Why do we have them? Why don’t we need them? Where are they? What did we use them for? Some of them just hang out and mind their business. Others have the potential to cause problems (think tonsils and appendix). Since man began walking upright and no longer needed his tail for balance or to swing from trees our bodies started adapting. When we no longer needed to sniff the wind for large predators, our sinuses began changing.
Muscles that we used to swing from trees or walking on all fours have begun to disappear from the population. As our needs changed, our bodies adapted to those changes.
