If you think that you’re hungry all the time, you can’t imagine what it must be like to be young Hannah Wilkinson. The girl suffers from a rare medical condition that’s known as “Prader-Willi Syndrome.” This ailment causes people to feel nonstop hunger.

Girl Weighs 350 Pounds

Although Wilkinson is just 14 years old, she already weighs an astounding 350 pounds. Her excessive weight is beyond her control, however. Regardless of what she does, she’s extremely hungry. There isn’t a second of Wilkinson’s existence that isn’t occupied by thoughts of food. She’s famished even immediately after consuming a meal.

Prader-Willi Syndrome is a genetic disorder. Not only does it make people feel ravenous without pause, but it also significantly alters the metabolism. The condition makes its sufferers’ metabolisms markedly slower.

The hypothalamus is the section of the brain that’s in charge of alerting people to whether they’re hungry or not. When a person has Prader-Willi Syndrome, his hypothalamus essentially isn’t on. This means that the people who have the condition aren’t clued into the fact that they’re not actually hungry if they’ve just eaten. This is why the concept of feeling “full” simply doesn’t exist to Hannah. Her normal state in life is one of severe hunger.
