Discover Your Best Time To Do Everything According To Chinese Body Clock

From eating no meat to eating almost all meat, the health world is full of ideas on how we can live healthier. The latest craze to come out of the health world isn’t a new idea. Rather, it’s been around for a long time in Chinese medicine. The Human Body Energy Clock, otherwise known as the Chinese Body Clock, claims to help people live their best by doing different things at different times of the day. According to the belief, various organs of the body are more active at different times of the day.

Utilizing activities that focus on these organs during those times, while letting other organs rest, can help people function at their best.

The Human Body Energy Clock is divided into 12 separate two-hour sections and offers advice on what to do during each time period. From 5 to 7 a.m., the focus is on the large intestine. It is best to wake up, drink 16 ounces of water and go for a brisk walk. Though many people enjoy their morning coffee, caffeine acts as a diuretic and removes water from the body at a time when the colon needs it most, so it is best to avoid caffeine.

From 7 to 9 a.m., the stomach is at its peak. A healthy breakfast that consists of fruit, protein, healthy fats and carbohydrates that are low on the glycemic index should be eaten to give your stomach the nutrition it needs. Coffee lovers should be happy to know that it’s okay to drink their favorite drink during this time.

The spleen takes the stage from 9 to 11 a.m. This is a great time to be active at work as the spleen helps the brain to function properly and helps your metabolism convert nutrients into energy. This gives your body a much-needed boost to accomplish tasks at work and at home.

A lunch that is eaten from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. will help your heart pump blood efficiently. Eating a light, healthy lunch with others will allow you to socialize and nurture relationships. After lunch, from 1 to 3 p.m., the small intestine gets to work at digesting your lunch, giving your brain the opportunity to problem solve. Finish off your workday right during the hours of 3 to 5 p.m. As the bladder works at its best, drinking tea can help it to flush out toxins while your body gets the boost it needs to efficiently get the job done.

During dinner, which is ideally eaten between 5 and 7 p.m., the kidneys work hard to restore all of the energy you spent at work, at home, and with family. If you are feeling extra tired during this time, remember to take time for yourself. After dinner, during 7 to 9 p.m., the pericardium is responsible for circulation to the brain and reproductive organs, making it an ideal time to socialize, connect with others or get a massage.

Start winding down with a good book and avoid eating from 9 to 11 p.m., as the thyroid and the adrenal glands transfer energy, boost your metabolism and raise your core body temperature. As you drift off to sleep, be aware that gallstones may cause you pain from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m., as the gallbladder works hard.

Those who find themselves waking up regularly between 1 and 3 a.m. may want to stay away from heavy drinks and unhealthy foods. The liver releases and processes toxins during this time. An unhealthy diet can strain this vital organ. Finally, the lungs work their best from 3 to 5 a.m., expelling toxins via coughing.

This video demonstrates this internal clock at work. If you’ve ever wondered why it’s important to take the occasional nap or stop eating in the evening, this video explains why our internal body clocks can help us live our best by listening to our bodies.

Though many people swear by the human body clock, no studies have been able to prove that it is completely true, leaving researchers skeptical. Scientists, however, have done some studies on an internal body clock that has many of the same principles as the Chinese version. Researchers have been able to conclude that the body’s internal body clock is essential for cell repair and preventing cancer and other diseases from occurring.
