7 Things You Can Do Before Noon to Lose Weight

Many people want to shed a few pounds, but they often just don’t have the time or inclination. After all, who has the energy to hit the gym after a long day at work? Plus, you’re not going to randomly start exercising in your cubicle. That would just be weird. Fortunately, there is a solution that can make things a lot easier, and help you see more results. Here are seven things you can do before noon to help you lose weight.

Things You Can Do Before Noon to Lose Weight

1. Hit the Snooze

Don’t overdo it, because you might find yourself late for work. However, sleeping for an additional 30 minutes each morning can go a long way toward preventing unwanted pounds. A lack of sleep disturbs your hormones and neurotransmitters, paving the way toward compulsive snacking on high-calorie foods.

2. Little Miss Sunshine

As soon as you get out of bed, open your blinds to let the light in. The sun’s light shuts down the lingering traces of melatonin, the sleep hormone, that are still floating around in your brain. It also helps jump-start your metabolism for the day.

3. The Most Important Meal

Everyone knows that a good breakfast can prevent you from hunger-induced junk food binges. However, a piece of toast and some orange juice aren’t going to cut it. You need protein to really feel satisfied. Boiled or poached eggs, yogurt, fresh fruit and nuts are some excellent options.

4. Liquid Breakfast

Eating solids help you stay full, but it’s just as important to stay hydrated. Drinking a big glass of water each morning keeps your metabolism functioning at an optimal level, which can keep you from gaining weight. If plain water sounds too boring, try adding a twist of citrus for flavor.

5. Morning Routine

Few people want to drag themselves out of bed and workout. Fortunately, it doesn’t have to be a laborious chore. Just ten minutes of walking, yoga, stretching or using resistance bands can help wake your body up and keep your metabolism high throughout the day.

6. Snack Sacks

Even if you don’t have time in the morning to pack yourself a healthy lunch, you should at least throw a few nutritious and low-calorie snacks in your purse. Mid-day hunger has a way of driving you to make poor snacking choices. However, you’re much less likely to do this if you already have healthier options on hand when you need them.

7. Workout to Work

Consider parking a few blocks away from your job, or catching the bus a couple of stops down. This gives you a convenient reason to walk more, which helps amp up your metabolism and burn off some decent calories. Just make sure you’re dressed for the weather and wearing the proper shoes.
