Happiness is something that increases if we share it with others. Sometimes people complain that others don’t like them. Its generally accepted that if you make people around you happy they are more likely to accept you. Making others happy is not a difficult task, and there are things you can do to make someone’s day without much effort. Here is a list of 7 examples of easy things that can make anyone’s day, it may inspire you to think of more on your own.
1. Smile more often
A smile is the perfect accessory and is available for free. Smiling makes you look more beautiful and can make someone’s day, nobody wants to look at a sad face. Smiling faces fill the environment with a positive aura. Smiling makes people feel happy and project the image of being trustworthy. If you smile at someone it makes the other person feel that you think positively about them and shows friendliness.
2. Help somebody
Many of us keep our day to day tasks pending because we need someone to help us with them or they can’t be managed alone. Be that someone and help people you know to complete their daily tasks. You can also help people you don’t know, help an elderly or pregnant woman with her grocery bags, help a friend move, drive someone without a car to the store.
3. Praise without reason
Many of us try to look attractive and feel happy when someone notices. A new hairstyle or new dress becomes more special when people notice it and praise it. Praising someone, especially in public, can make their day and give their daily schedule a kick-start with feel-good factors.
4. Gossip positively
People often carry with them words that have been said about them behind their back. Its advisable to talk positively about people behind their back. When they learn that you said something kind and good words they believe them more easily than the words said in their presence. Its human nature and should be respected.
5. Ask for help
If you ask someone for help or advice regarding something that matters to you it makes them feel valued and know that you trust their thought process. Whether you agree to what they say or not is irrelevant, asking is what matters and can make someone’s day.
6. Surprise them
When we get something we are not expecting we get more happiness than getting something we know about. Let people around you expect the unexpected. Surprise people with sudden moments of happiness like a birthday cake for someone in your office, a sudden visit to your grandparents, or flowers to celebrate their personal achievements.
7. Tell people that you care/love
We know that many people love us, however when someone tells us that they love us the feelings of being loved and cared about increases. Tell your partner, children, siblings, or parents how much you love them and how you love to see them happy. Exchange of these emotions makes the other person’s day without making much effort as you are just expressing what you feel.
