BRIGHTEN AND TOUCH UP BLOND HAIR
To make a lemon-based wash that will lighten and add shine to blond hair, mix 2/3 cup boiling water with the juice and grated peel of one lemon, and steep for 30 minutes. Strain and stir in 1 teaspoon of cider vinegar. Apply evenly on your freshly washed hair and rinse with warm water after 10-15 minutes, repeat once a week.
Mix together a paste that will turn blond hair shiny. Pour a little boiling water over about 5 ounces of chamomile blooms and steep for 30 minutes. Then strain and put the flowers into a bowl with 3 ½ ounces of dried, finely grounded rhubarb. Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and an equal amount of hot water, and mix. Apply with a brush and cover hair with plastic wrap for 30 minutes, rinse out and wash your hair.
BRUNETTE HAIR DYE
To make a shimmering brown dye, blend ½ cup of natural henna with 1 cup of finely ground walnut shells. Stir in enough boiling water to make spreadable paste. Add 1 teaspoon of lemon juice and 1 tablespoon of olive oil, stir, and apply with a broad brush. Cover your hair with plastic wrap and let sit for 20-30 minutes before thoroughly rinsing and washing your hair.
Create a medium brown dye with a light red luster by mixing 3 ½ ounces of crushed onion peel, 1 ½ ounces of finely ground sandalwood, and 1 tablespoon olive oil. Pour in enough boiling water to create a spreadable paste and apply with broad brush. Cover your hair with plastic wrap and leave for 20-30 minutes before rinsing and washing your hair.

DYING YOUR HAIR DARK BROWN OR BLACK
To make a dark brown or black dye that will work on all natural hair colors, mix 3 tablespoons black tea, ½ cup of black henna powder, 1 tablespoon olive oil, and 1 teaspoon cider vinegar. Add enough boiling water to produce a spreadable mixture. Apply with a broad brush, cover about 30-40 minutes before rinsing and washing your hair.
Create a rinse that will result in a darker shade with a subtle luster by stepping 4 tablespoons dried sage, 2 tablespoons dried rosemary, and 1 tablespoon lemon juice in about 1 2/3 cup of water over low heat. Strain after 30 minutes, cool, and use as a rinse after washing.
COLORING AND DARKENING GRAY HAIR
Gray hair can also be colored, producing high lighting effects, white hairs take on color differently from those that are not yet gray.
To darken gray hair, mix 3 ½ ounces boiling water with 4 tablespoon dried sage and 1 teaspoon black tea. Let steep for 30 minutes, then strain. Moisten your hair with the lukewarm solution and rinse after 30 minutes.
