How Do You Know When to Write?

A great writer once said, when asked by a fan how to write, “If you want to write, write.” I have always been a writer, I have not always been a published writer. Writers love words, poems, songs, stories, puzzles, etc. Writers also read, often we read so much we think we can write. Some days words flow, some days they get stuck and nothing wants to happen. I found this and thought it was a great poster, and funny while being true. I never have a problem with ideas though, my problem is usually too many ideas and narrowing it down to a cohesive plan. I think of writing as housekeeping for my brain, clears out all the junk that builds up in there!
