You Need to Do These 10 Things Every Morning Before 10 AM

Sometimes it may feel like you’re not getting the most out of your day, and maybe you’re not. It’s easy to get bogged down in the monotony of the everyday routine. This is actually unhealthy. According to the Alzheimer’s Association, a lack of challenging mental activity can lead to memory decline and, ultimately, dementia or Alzheimer’s. Aside from keeping your mind active, a morning routine full of exercise and deep thought feeds you mentally and physically. Here are some highly useful practices you should utilize every morning:

You Need to Do These 10 Things Every Morning Before 10 AM

Hydrate
As soon as you wake up, you should be drinking water. Chances are, your body got a little dehydrated while you slept. Have a nice, refreshing glass of water before you do anything else in the morning, and you’ll already be a step ahead of the game.

Exercise
There is nothing you can do better for your body than daily exercise. Do this when you first wake up. It will get your blood flowing and release happy endorphins in your brain. This will give you motivation to continue on your morning journey for a healthy mind and body.

Learn something new
Whether you’re reading the news or working with Rosetta Stone to learn a new language, you should learn something new every morning. This gives you something to reflect on throughout the day and allows you to teach someone else!

Challenge your brain
Solve some riddles, do a crossword puzzle or work on some sudoku. This helps keep your mind as sharp as a tack.

Imagine successfully accomplishing your objective for the day
Whether you are running a marathon or simply going to work, imagine the day as a successful one. Imagine winning the race, imagine snagging a valuable client or having a breakthrough with one of your students who couldn’t understand the concept of division. Whatever you do, imagine it a success.

Take a step outside
Whether it is cold and blustery or warm and sunny outside, take a deep breath of the fresh air. Deep breathing helps oxygenate your organs and muscles making them work at a high efficiency. Greet the day with gratitude that you have a day to greet. This will start you off with a positive mindset and fully functional body.

Sing along to the radio in the shower
According to a study at the University of Oxford, upbeat music causes your body to release happy endorphins similar to that which are released during exercise.

Let it go
Holding a grudge or feeling negatively towards someone you have to deal with brings your mood down. If there is someone at work who makes you absolutely insane, or if your kid is about to make you pull your hair out, take a deep breath and let it go. Remember it’s not the end of the world. You’ll feel better for it.

Eat some fruits or veggies
Fruits and vegetables are like a spa time for your body. They are loaded with fiber and vitamins which help your body, not only survive, but thrive! Just eating a bowl of cereal really doesn’t cut it. Have a fruit smoothy, eat some celery and peanut butter– pamper your body.

Accept yourself
There are things about yourself you probably don’t like, everybody has those things. That’s okay. Visualize purging all of the negative feelings you have for yourself. Now try to do it. Try everyday. Change what you can, accept what you can’t and be happier for it.

There are so many things that people miss out on when doing their daily routines. Not you. You’re going to stop and smell the metaphorical roses. You’re going to love life practicing these easy steps.
