Natural treatment for phobias

A phobia, by definition, is an irrational fear which the sufferer finds impossible to overcome. It can relate to just about any object, person or situation and is probably caused by a subconscious reflex to avoid repeating an unpleasant experience. Some of the most common fears are claustrophobia (fear of enclosed spaces) agoraphobia (fear of open spaces) and acrophobia (fear of heights). The hallmark symptoms are: rapid pulse, profuse sweating, high blood pressure, trembling and nausea.  Here we give you some natural treatment for phobias

If you are experiencing a panic attack try to remember AWARE, which is an acronym for a practical solution.
A is for Awareness – be aware of what’s going on, label your feelings as a panic attack and remind yourself that this will pass and that you are safe.
W is for Watchfulness – watch your symptoms, all panic attacks have a pattern, the symptoms come on like a wave, and you should just ride the wave and wait for it to pass
Second A stands for Act – stay active through the attack, don’t stop what you are doing, do not retreat from where you are
R is for Relax – learn relaxation techniques, try some yoga and meditation too, you can also try breathing exercises, distraction and biofeedback
Finally E means Enjoy life- don’t let your fears control your life
Go very slowly when conquering your fears. The fear is real and should be respected. You can overcome it, but do it slowly, sometimes it helps to have a trusted companion with you so that you do not feel alone.

If you feel you are not being able to control your fear try lemon or lime, which are suggested for dizziness, Valerian tea is also recommended, since it can help reduce tension.
Essential oils can be very useful in the treatment of phobias since they help to release tension and induce a feeling of calm, try bergamot, chamomile, clary sage, geranium, jasmine, juniper, lavender, marjoram, and Melissa.
Finally B and C vitamins are important for nerve functioning. Ensure that you eat regular meals, since low blood sugar can exacerbate the problem.
