For acid reflux or heart burn sufferers sleeping on the back is a NO, and they should sleep on their sides or lift their heads with a pillow.

Neck pain should avoid sleeping on their stomach.

For back pain sufferers, the best position is sleeping on the back. This position is also helpful for those with shoulder pain.

For those with sleep apnea or snoring problems the best position is sleeping on the sides. Nearly 10 percent of apnea problems may be solved only by changing the sleeping position.
